Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) is an Integrated Emergency Response System with a single emergency number 112, designed to address all emergency signals received from Citizens through voice call, SMS, e-mail, panic SOS signal, ERSS web portal etc.
ERSS tracks the Emergency Response Vehicles in real-time on a digital map of the State/UT and hence it will be possible to direct the right vehicle(s) to reach the service requestor and provide necessary support immediately.
Hon’ble CM Sj. Naveen Patnaik launched the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) in Odisha through Video Conference on Dt. 19.03.2021.
People will dial only a single number 112 for all their Emergency needs related to Police, Fire service, Health, Disaster and any other Emergency in times of Distress.
It will provide a round-the-clock service with a facility of receiving inputs from various voice and data services such as voice calls, SMS, emails, panic-SOS requests and even web requests through a specially created 112 India App.
This service will be beneficial for people especially women and elderly persons by providing faster, prompter and immediate response during Emergency and Distress.
With the introduction of this new response system, the existing emergency numbers like Police 100, Fire 101, and Ambulance 108-102 will be integrated into the unified tool free number 112 in a phased manner.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the State Emergency Response Centre and flagged off the Emergency Response Vehicles fitted with Mobile Data Terminals.
The State Emergency Response Centre has been digitally connected to 34 District Coordination Centres at district level and suitably located Emergency Response Vehicles.
