  • When crossing a multi-lane road, be mindful of each lane.

  • Ensure children do not sit on fuel tanks or stand in front of the rider.

  • Use lights when riding at night.

  • Do not ride or wheel your vehicle on the footpath.

  • Give sufficient clearance to stationary vehicles when passing, especially for car doors.

  • Understand the use of signals from other road users while riding.

  • Avoid weaving through stationary or slow-moving traffic as it may cause accidents.

  • Keep both hands on the handlebars while riding, except when signaling.

  • Always adhere to road safety rules and regulations applicable to motor vehicles.

  • Check for traffic signs before crossing intersections.

  • Drive within the prescribed speed limits. It's advisable to maintain speeds of around 30 kmph near busy areas like markets and residential zones.

  • Keep your vehicle well-maintained. A sudden breakdown on the road can inconvenience not only you but also other drivers and traffic personnel. Regular vehicle checks can prevent such situations.

  • Stop or slow down your vehicle to allow pedestrians to cross at unmanned or signaled zebra crossings.

  • Always wear seat belts while driving four-wheelers.

  • Avoid reckless or negligent driving.

  • Never drink and drive.

  • Refrain from using mobile phones while driving. Accidents often occur when motorists accelerate quickly at green lights or overlook approaching vehicles due to phone distractions. If call is urgent, park safely, activate your brake lights, and allow traffic to pass.

  • Activate your brake lights before stopping to warn vehicles behind and prevent collisions.

  • The following guidance for crossing roads is particularly aimed at children. Children must learn and follow safety rules and should always be accompanied by an adult when on the road until they fully understand road safety measures. It's crucial for parents and teachers to set a good example by consistently adhering to these rules when out with children.

  • Always use the footpath when walking. If there's no footpath available, walk on the far right side of the road.

  • Stay patient while on the road; avoid rushing or running.

  • Only cross roads at designated points such as zebra crossings, traffic signals, subways, or footbridges. If these are not available, find a safe place to cross.

  • At traffic light intersections, only cross when the signal is green. If a crossing is managed by a traffic officer, only proceed when they indicate it's safe.

  • When crossing between parked vehicles, remember you may not be visible to moving traffic. Stop, look for a clear gap, and cross only when it's safe. Remember, drivers need ample time to see you and react.

  • On wide roads with central islands, cross in two stages: first to the island, stop, then proceed when the next section is clear.

  • When crossing one-way streets with multiple lanes and fast-moving traffic, wait until all lanes are clear before crossing.

  • Avoid crossing roads at corners or curves, where motorists may not see you in time.

  • Don’t run across the road.

  • These sentences maintain the focus on parental responsibilities and safety measures related to children's journeys and road safety.

  • It is the responsibility of parents to ensure their children's safety during their journey to and from school.

  • Parents should verify the safety of transportation provided either by the school or arranged independently.

  • Parents should actively observe and record any violations committed by school buses, promptly reporting them to the authorities.

  • Participation in Parent-Teacher Association (P.T.A.) meetings is crucial for parents to discuss their children's safety concerns.

  • Parents must educate their children on essential road safety rules, including pedestrian behavior, crossing streets safely, and boarding and disembarking from buses.

  • Adults should strictly prohibit minor children from driving any vehicle.
