Organization of small and marginal producers into member owned and member-controlled Farmer PC has emerged as one of the most effective mechanisms to address the challenges of access to markets, access to credit and access to technology and inputs which are often faced by them. A total number of 23 Producers’ Companies have been formed for formalization of PG into PC under NRLM/NRETP. PCs bring together the business activities of many individual small-scale producers and thereby increase the overall scale which would lower business costs and enable high volume, improved quality, and consistency in supply. PCs can increase small-scale producers’ bargaining power by achieving larger volume and ensuring better negotiable prices.
