Departmental Overview :

With the inception of S.C.B Medical College in 1944, the Dept. of Physiology came into existence. Prof. S.N Banarjee, a Physiologist and the first Principal of this Medical College also first headed the Dept. The National Tricolor was first unfurled on 15th Aug 1947 by Prof. S.N Banarjee in the Dept. of Physiology as the Principal’s office was a part of Physiology Dept. then. Now the Post Graduate Department of Physiology is headed by Prof. Dr. Bipin Bihari Pradhan. This Dept. presently imparts teaching and training to M.D, M.D.S, M Phil(Clinical Psychology), M.B.B.S, B.D.S, B.Sc (Nursing), B.P.T, B.O.T, B.P.O, D.M.L.T & D.M.R.T. The Dept. also undertakes research on Basic and Allied Sciences.
