General Information

This State Government Medical College and Hospital, established by the Government of Odisha under the Health & Family Welfare Department, provides teaching, research, and multispecialty patient care. As one of the largest tertiary care hospitals in India, all diagnostic, medical, and stay services are free for all patients.

Inquiry, Reception, and Registration Services

Two computerized counters operate from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the OPD and Super Specialty blocks. Location guide maps are available throughout the hospital.

Casualty & Emergency Services

All casualty services are available 24×7. Duty doctors and emergency services for all specialties are available round the clock, including a Trauma Care Center.

OPD Services

Available all days (including Sundays and holidays) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Services include:

Super-specialty OPD Services

Departments like Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Urology (including Renal Transplant), Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Clinical Haematology (including Bone Marrow Transplant) are available on designated days. Day Care Center services operate Monday to Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM.

Indoor Patient Services

Serving patients from Odisha and neighboring states, the hospital has a 180-bed ICU, 24×7 Labour Room, and Emergency OT. Free diet is provided to all indoor patients. Visitors are allowed during 12:30–1:30 PM and 5:00–7:00 PM.

Laboratory Services

Round-the-clock lab services are available, including X-ray, Ultrasonography, Mammography, Digital CT Scan, and MRI.

Other Facilities

Facilities include wheelchairs, trolleys, golf-carts, ambulance service, backup generators, lifts/ramps, and clean toilet facilities.
