Departmental Overview :
The Skin & VD Department of SCB Medical College & Hospital is the largest department of the Eastern India as far as patient turnover is concerned. The department was set up in 1962, headed by Prof. Keshab Chandra Sahu. It started as a 30 bedded unit. Currently, the bed strength is increased to 60 beds divided into 2 units. It also has its own separate building which has both OPD services and Indoor services. The department is now in its 58th year of existence. The indoor comprising of 60 beds has three wings (Dermatology, STD, Leprosy). After recent developments in Cosmetology, Dermatosurgery field, surgical & cosmetic procedures, skin biopsies are being conducted in the Dept.
