Departmental Overview :

Department of Community Medicine deals with teaching & training of PG, UG, interns, Nursing, DMLT/ DMRT & BOT/ BPT students about various aspects of epidemiology, communicable, non-communicable diseases, research methodology & health care delivery system. The department also acts as collaborative center for Diploma in Geriatrics & MCH. The department also manages various OPD’s like: Anti Rabies Vaccination OPD, Immunization OPD & OPD at Urban Health & Training Centre, Jobra. The Department also has a Rural Health & Training Centre at Jagatsinghpur which also helps in teaching & training activities. The Associate Professors & Assistant Professors of the department are working as COVID warriors in the field under Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation. The department has formulated the guidelines for IDRV (Intradermal Anti Rabies Vaccination) by Govt. of Odisha.

Facilities Available Including Investigation :

Anti Rabies Vaccine administration, anti Rabies Immunoglobulin’s (Both Human & Equine) administration, all the vaccines under National Immunization Schedule are administered.
