S Goutami Rao from Puri seldom knew pursuing a course in World Skill Center would transform her life totally. “After losing my parents to an accident, I have been the parent to my 3 sisters. It gives me immense pleasure to share that I have secured placement with India’s leading hospitality chain IHCL. I was always passionate about becoming a Beauty Therapist and surprisingly World Skill Center made my dream come true. This job was very important for me as it will help me in securing a future for my siblings”. Earlier Goutami was working as an LIC agent to feed her family. After being informed about the advanced skill training at WSC, she realized this was her opportunity which will turn over a new leaf for her & her sisters.

Ganjam born Biju Routa left his job to upskill himself at World Skill Center. “My father is a farmer, and my family has earned a living with much struggle, but I am always the curious to learn more. Hence, I was attracted to the advance technologies & courses offered at WSC. Apart from the curriculum I learnt in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration at WSC, I also honed my soft skills at the regular Life Skills classes which helped me secure a job in TATA Steel in the very first round".

After completing a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic Bhubaneswar, she joined Mechanical & Electrical Services at @WorldSkillCentr. “Now that I have secured placement with TATA Steel Technical Services, it makes my parents really happy”, said - Sushree Alisha Dash, Student – World Skill Center. Thanking World Skill Center for building her career, Sushree said that she plans to gain experience in TATA Steel & grow in the sector to achieve heights.

“Fashion & beauty fascinated me, but our financial situation was not very well. My father invested all his earnings in my education. After completing my BA, I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming a Beautician", said Dharitrima Chhura from Balangir. "Beauty courses are so expensive for us middle class families, but it is surprising how @WorldSkillCentr is totally transforming our lives with free skill training and other benefits. For aspiring young girls like me, it is unbelievable that I have a job now and I will be working in the leading brand of India, IHCL”, said Dharitrima. It makes me happy to watch young girls fulfill their dreams thanks to the #SkilledInOdisha initiative.

After getting trained in 1 year adv course of 'Mechatronics' at World Skill Center, he embarked on a 6-month Paid Internship program in Singapore.
